چکیده

Recent advancements in remote sensing have led to the development of several useful technologies that would significantly improve our understanding atmospheric sciences. The ability identify conditions and determine possibility intensity rainfall over a specific location represents one most important advantages. However, use measure precipitation arid regions has revealed significant disparities due mixture climatic terrestrial factors. objective this study is assess consistency, variability, concentration UAE using four multi-satellite products, namely CHIRPS, CMORPH, GPM-IMERG, PERSIANN-CDR, considering daily data from 50 rain gauges for period 2004 through 2020. area divided into various geomorphological accuracy products different regions. Results reveal with finer spatial resolution such as CHIRPS CMORPH are better terms annual average values. GPM-IMERG demonstrated POD values 0.80 0.78, respectively, while PERSIANN-CDR showed 0.72 0.44, respectively. correlation error estimate analysis performance varies each region. registered highest 0.8 East Coast, other it could not correlate well. IMERG were able exhibit good value (up 0.8) gauge observations. Precipitation variability alternative data. It concluded multiple hydro-climatological measures should be utilized effectiveness satellite select best product studies.

Evaluation of Satellite Precipitation Products with Rain Gauge Data at Different Scales: Implications for Hydrological Applications

Rain gauge and satellite-retrieved data have been widely used in basin-scale hydrological applications. While rain gauges provide accurate measurements that are generally unevenly distributed in space, satellites offer spatially regular observations and common error prone retrieval. Comparative evaluation of gauge-based and satellite-based data is necessary in hydrological studies, as precipita...

Geostatistical Integration of Coarse Resolution Satellite Precipitation Products and Rain Gauge Data to Map Precipitation at Fine Spatial Resolutions

This paper investigates the benefits of integrating coarse resolution satellite-derived precipitation estimates with quasi-point rain gauge data for generating a fine spatial resolution precipitation map product. To integrate the two precipitation data sources, a geostatistical downscaling and integration approach is presented that can account for the differences in spatial resolution between d...

Modelling Hydrologic Processes in the Mekong River Basin Using a Distributed Model Driven by Satellite Precipitation and Rain Gauge Observations

The Mekong River is the most important river in Southeast Asia. It has increasingly suffered from water-related problems due to economic development, population growth and climate change in the surrounding areas. In this study, we built a distributed Geomorphology-Based Hydrological Model (GBHM) of the Mekong River using remote sensing data and other publicly available data. Two numerical exper...

An Evaluation of the Statistics of Rainfall Extremes in Rain Gauge Observations, and Satellite-Based and Reanalysis Products Using Universal Multifractals

Confidence in the estimation of variations in the frequency of extreme events, and specifically extreme precipitation, in response to climate variability and change is key to the development of adaptation strategies. One challenge to establishing a statistical baseline of rainfall extremes is the disparity among the types of datasets (observations versus model simulations) and their specific sp...
